Hankerton Bridge, C01-157 – Strengthening Works
C92, Hankerton, Malmesbury, Wiltshire

As you are aware we have been preparing a scheme to strengthen Hankerton Bridge on the north route out of the village. We are currently progressing a bridge deck replacement scheme with site works programmed to commence 2^nd March 2015. Our Term Contractor Balfour Beatty Living Places will be carrying out the bridge strengthening works and maintaining the temporary diversion route.

The bridge works will be carried out under a full road closure and we anticipate the work to take 6-8 weeks to complete. During the road closure a signed diversion route will be maintained for all vehicles and a temporary footbridge will be installed on site to provide pedestrian and cyclist access. Advance notice will be given by letter to all Hankerton addresses during February 2015 and Advance Signs will be positioned on the bridge at least 2 weeks before the works commence.

During the works progress reports will be prepared and issued weekly, I am working with Wiltshire Council website team to have these posted on our website and linked via the Malmesbury Community Matters website.

Amenity Area Survey

Here are the results of the recent survey into usage of the amenity area. Thank you to those who took part.

The results were discussed at the last Parish Council meeting and it was agreed that we need a working party to explore the top suggestions and hopefully implement some of the ideas.

Some of you indicated on the form that you would be willing to help. I am arranging a meeting for 16th February in the North Aisle.

I spotted a few bins out last night (Tuesday) and thought I’d just pass on the post-Christmas bin collection details.

So no collection today (Wednesday) but next collection Friday (9th).

Our next Golf Trip will be held at the St Mellion International Resort, Saltash, Cornwall.

This event will be over the w/e of 10th-12th April
So far 7 couples are attending.

The resort offers 2 Golf Courses, a spa, a swimming pool and a beauty treatment salon.
