Strawberry Tea

strawb

The PCC would like to thank all those who came to the annual Strawberry Tea in the Churchyard on 28th June. The weather was mixed for the 50 who came along and enjoyed scones, strawberries and cream and various excellent cakes. There was also a raffle and Church funds were boosted by £369, which will help to pay for the new audio and loop system.

Charlton Park Fun Ride This Sunday

The Charlton Park Charity Funride will be coming through Hankerton this Sunday (June 14th).

horses

The event has both short and long routes and the long route brings the horses along the bridlepath to Bullocks Horn, down to Cloatley Road, into the village, and then out down the small lane past the Old Post Office.

The route will be signposted with orange sings and orange ribbons and I would have thought that horses would start to appear in the village from around 10:45.

The event is organised by the North Wiltshire Saddle Club which is a friendly local club that organises various events for local riders throughout the year. The funride is a charity event supporting Charlton Church, Riding for the Disabled, and The Air Ambulance.

I’ve been to a few of their other events and they’re always well organised and managed. It’s a joy to see so many grown ups, kids, horses, and ponies getting out in the fresh air and enjoying themselves instead of sitting in front of a screen !    (yes alright, personal opinion I know !)

So give them a wave as they pass !

The Stuart Singers, numbering some 50 singers, are well known in the Tetbury / Minchinhampton area for their renditions of modern and popular music. Less well known is that they perform exclusively to support local charities.

This is the second year they’ve joined with Malmesbury and Tetbury Rotarians to help us support a wide range of deserving causes.

Entry fee includes a free glass of wine  Please give me a ring on 01666 575370 for tickets – I promise you a great evening
