The WBCT Wootton Bassett branch is starting their winter series of talks on Monday December 7th, at 7.30pm.
Roger Halse will give a talk titled ‘The Somersetshire Coal Canal (A Pictorial Journey)’. Roger has published books about the canal and is the Trust archivist.
The Somerset Canal goes from near Radstock and joins the K&A at Dundas Aqueduct. It was featured on the BBC program ‘Canals:The Making of a Nation’ in September. To do some pre-talk mugging up see their Trust website here.

The venue is The Angel pub on Bassett High Street, SN4 7AQ, This is a new place for talks as we have appreciated the welcome, comfort, and availabilty of refreshments at our branch meetings. The only downside is that unfortunately the Ballroom is upstairs and there isn’t a lift.

Parking is easiest in the Borough Fields car park, free in the evenings, and you can walk through by Sainsbury’s, and turn left. Or you may find a space on the roadside parking. Perhaps we could car share, give me a call on 577275
