Sport Relief 2016

20160320_112247

Thank you to the many people who helped, baked a cake and joined in our Sport Relief event on Sunday 20 March. Everyone had a very enjoyable time.

The event started with a warm up and then people ran or walked one, three, or six miles. Like last time over 130 people entered the event. £691 was raised through donations and entries on the day, and a further £245 from the sale of cakes and refreshments.

In the summer I’ll get the final total raised through sponsorship.

On Sunday 20th March the Sport Relief Mile will set off from Hankerton Church at 11am. This is the third time a Sport Relief Mile has been held in Hankerton. Walk, jog or wiggle along footpaths and country lanes, starting and finishing at the twelfth century Hankerton Church. Participants can complete one, three or six miles. There will be home-made cakes and refreshments, background music, and a warm-up to get everyone on their way. The money raised goes towards helping people who live in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.

The cost of entry is £7 adult, £3 child, and £17 family. Go to www.sportrelief.com for more information and to enter. Or enter on the day.

Car For Sale

I am selling my daughter in laws car who is living and working abroad. As it is a very low milage vehicle I thought I might offer it to the residents of Hankerton via our website.

The details are set out on the attached ‘What Car’ valuation [Peugeot Valn]. The vehicle has only done 12,000 miles, is three years old in July and regularly serviced. For valuation I classed the condition as ‘good’ because it has some superficial scratches on the rear near side bumper.

Any reasonable offer in the  region of £6k considered.
