B4040 Roadworks

There has been some confusion about the roadworks on the B4040. Our very own David Pynn has been good enough to contact Wiltshire County Council to ask for clarification and here it is (thanks David) !

Dear Mr Pynn,

Please accept our apologies for confusion caused by the Road Closure and Advance Notice signing.

The B4040 was closed yesterday for 1 day whilst stone was recovered from the river, the works will now progress under 2-way traffic management for the next 3 weeks.

Best regards
Emma

I came this way myself earlier today after having a bit of a mystery tour yesterday on finding the road closed and can confirm that temporary traffic lights have been set up on either side of the right angle bridge between Charlton and Malmesbury.

Free Turf !

We have 12 rolls of turf 260 cm x 4cm free to anyone wanting to collect from us.

Suggest they call beforehand and it needs using in the next couple of days ideally.

We’ve mentioned it to a few people but thought the villiage site might be a better way to communicate!
