Malmesbury GP Practice: COVID vaccinations latest update

PLEASE DO NOT contact the surgery regarding Covid vaccinations. Our phone lines are being jammed by enquiries and we don’t have answers!

We hope to have a batch in the New year but nothing is certain . This batch will only ever treat a small group of our most vulnerable patients and WE WILL BE CONTACTING THEM once we know dates . THANK YOU

Christmas Recycling Calendar

Forget carol singing, mulled wine, Christmas trees, and lights, it isn’t really Christmas until you get the festive recycling calendar !

As far as I can see it carries on as normal except for going back a day from Monday / Wednesday to Tuesday / Thursday – just for one week :-

Wiltshire have also produced a downloadable Waste collection calendar

Bear in mind that this all relates to my postcode though (Follyfield). If you want to check out your own address then the link to the Wiltshire page you need can be found on the “Useful Links” page here.

Missing Presents !

Alan here at Laurel farm. Amazon delivered (dumped in my front garden!) a box with two presents in. No address on the box which was in any case ruined by the rain. Taking a look inside the presents for a clue, they appear to be addressed to two children, James and William and sent by Rhiannon.

I have no idea who these are for but please could you contact me on my email if you know who these are for : alanjackson502@icloud.com.

I would hate to think of there being two disappointed children over Christmas!

Christmas Eve

It would seem there are many of us here for Christmas this year, making the most of a time that we cannot share with friends and family.

So, with weather permitting and social distancing , why not come round to Follyfield at 5pm on Christmas Eve, enjoy the lights, and say hello ?

Sorry, but you will have to bring your own mulled wine !

Happy Christmas,
Susan Mockler (13 Follyfield)

Sunday’s Carol Service

The wet and gloomy weather did nothing to deter the 66 hardy souls who attended the ‘Worship and Carols’ Service in the Church grounds on Sunday.  The service held by Sarah Wyman, aided and abetted by villagers and local children, included an updated version of the story of the Nativity, this time set in 2020 with the Magi bringing gifts of PPE, pasta and loo paper instead of the more traditional Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh 😊.

There were also Christmas carols to sing along to plus prayers and readings.  The church grounds looked magnificent with a gloriously lit-up Christmas Tree, fire pits to keep everyone toasty and candles placed along the walls, casting a warm and festive glow.

Well done to Sarah and the team for bringing some Christmas cheer to the village in what has been a truly horrendous year. Fingers crossed that this time next year we will be able to enjoy a more ‘normal’ Christmas (although the outside Carol Service may be a keeper 😊)

Hankerton Art Group

Sadly COVID 19 restrictions have meant that Hankerton Art Group (HAG) have not been able to meet up together since March. We have still been busy painting and drawing and even sharing ideas via Zoom. With no art display this year we have put a selection of our work on the village website for you to enjoy. So pour yourself a cuppa and browse through our work from 2020.
