A couple of weeks ago the directional markers (we could perhaps call them ‘arms’) disappeared off the Eastcourt road junction signpost. The PC had received an offer (which it accepted) by a local (non-Hankerton) resident to replace them at cost plus a charity donation, and it was assumed that he had taken them to start work. It now transpires that this was not the case. Someone else has taken them.
It matters because the lettering would have been re-used on the new arms.
If anyone reading this has the old arms:

The Environment Agency has been investigating illegal waste sites in central and Northern Wiltshire. Waste and scrap metal is being burnt and illegally processed, causing environmental damage, creating a fire risk and health hazard. If you are getting waste removed by a waste carrier, or a tradesman is getting rid of waste for you, make sure you understand your waste duty of care to stop your waste falling into the wrong hands.
If they can’t give you any of this information, don’t give them your waste. Don’t pay cash and refuse unexpected offers to take waste away.
Search ‘waste carriers public register’ to check licences online or go straight to: https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register/view/search-waste-carriers-brokers. You can also call the Environment Agency contact centre on tel. 03708 506 506
More guidance on waste duty of care can be found online at gov.uk – search. ‘waste duty of care code of practice’

Good News!!!!
I am glad to announce we are re-starting the Hankerton Velo Wednesday social rides.
Rides will be easy and at a pace that fits with the whole group. If you are looking at getting into cycling or just want some fresh air and exercise, then this is the perfect opportunity. The ride is social and assuming all are happy to do so, each ride will have a cafe stop. The first ride will be a flat 44km ride around the waterparks to get people back into the swing.
If you would like to join us, then please do. Start time is 9:30 from the Bus Shelter, and the first of the restarted rides will be on Wednesday 21st July.
If you would like more information, then contact Geoff on geoff@ hankertonvelo.uk. You can also get more information on the Hankerton Velo pages of the village website https://hankertongroups.wordpress.com/home/hankerton-velo/
The Parish Council agenda for Monday’s meeting is below :
New information was recently submitted by the applicant, JBM Solar, in relation to the proposed industrial-scale solar farm and battery storage development near Upper Minety (planning reference 20/03528).
Wiltshire Council’s stated consultation deadline is 19 Jul 21.
This further information is being reviewed within the Hankerton Parish Council.
Residents of Hankerton Parish wishing to express their views privately on this application may do so by email to the Parish clerk (mrbg1@outlook.com).
Alternatively, comments may be made directly to Wiltshire Council via the Planning Portal (https://development.wiltshire.gov.uk/pr/s/ ), where the numerous representations submitted by members of the public last year can still be viewed.
This matter will form part of the agenda at the Parish Council meeting on Mon 5 Jul.
