A couple of weeks ago the directional markers (we could perhaps call them ‘arms’) disappeared off the Eastcourt road junction signpost. The PC had received an offer (which it accepted) by a local (non-Hankerton) resident to replace them at cost plus a charity donation, and it was assumed that he had taken them to start work. It now transpires that this was not the case. Someone else has taken them.
It matters because the lettering would have been re-used on the new arms.
If anyone reading this has the old arms:
- If they have them because they intend to make replacement arms, that’s wonderful but please just identify yourself to the PC, so we know.
- If they have them for firewood in the winter – could we please have the letters back.

Did Dave Catley the parish steward take them? Dave Wood
Thanks Dave, I’ll pass that on to Michael.
Thanks Dave. I’ve asked him – answer is no.
what sort of freak would pinch an old wooden road sign?
