HANKERTON FOOTPATH TEAM are getting together for a walkers winter warmer at the Horse and Groom on Sunday 27th February at 12pm.

We would welcome walkers and non-walkers alike to join us, to share footpath information and our enjoyment of our wonderful village paths.

My Pilates teacher is doing this workshop next week if anyone fancies giving Pilates a try! This 90 minute workshop is designed for beginners and refreshers. I’m not sure if everyone is aware that David regularly walks the area collecting the rubbish left by others – I think we all owe him !

A haul of John Smiths cans from the verges near the passing place on the lane to Crudwell, just after the Hankerton charity field. The trouble is we share the road with the bibulous can chuckers.

The Queens Jubilee, June 2022 and the Grapevine
A special commemorative edition.

We are planning a special edition of the Grapevine to celebrate Her Majesty’s long reign by producing a Grapevine covering the last 70 years in Hankerton. 

We are asking for photographs, stories, to include anything that you have witnessed or recorded over the last 70 years. Please search your photographs and memories and send them to : grapevinesn16@aol.com.

We can safely scan old photographs so that you do not lose the originals!

Dexter was clearly looking over my shoulder as I wrote the previous post.

I received this letter from Wiltshire Council yesterday and thought it might be a good idea to share it as I very nearly missed the key information nestling within all that text !
Basically, the key takeaway is that there will be a 3 week gap between collections of household waste from 16th February to 9th March. So you may want to think about getting some extra bin bags…. and hoping for cold weather….
