As part of the village celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III, there is to be an art competition for the younger members of the community. The theme of the competition is obviously “The Coronation”, but that gives a lot of scope for subject material. The competition will be judged by members of the Hankerton Art Group (more commonly known as HAGs!).
There will be three sections, according to age. The first section will be for “5 years old and under”, then “6 to 11 years old”, and finally “12 to 18 years old.
The art work should be on a piece of paper (for display purposes), and could be a drawing, collage or painting (whatever medium is preferred).
The artist’s name and age should be written on the back of the piece of work, and we shall make sure that all are returned to the creator.
Please could all entries (entry is free) be delivered to 33 Follyfield, Hankerton by 2:00 pm on Friday 5th May, in time for judging. They can be delivered before that date if so wished. (Contact telephone number if problems catching us at home to deliver is 01666 577456).
All artwork will be displayed for the enjoyment of all, in the church on Sunday 7th May during the village Big Lunch.
The winner of each section will receive a small prize in recognition.
We look forward to seeing as many artworks as possible, from the possible HAGs of the future.
Steve Davies (on behalf of the Hankerton Art Group).
