Also, I’m trying to collate a list of all the things going on this Christmas so that everyone gets the chance to take part in things they want to. They’re all listed on the home page but please can you let me know of any I might have missed and send me any details that I can add for any events.
What do you get if you eat Christmas decorations? Tinsilitis.
I’ve updated the website homepage with things I know about :
But does anyone have any other events that people might want to know about ? If so, just mail me at : simon.kearsley@symmetry.co.uk and I’ll add to the home page.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the village collection for this year’s Poppy appeal.
We raised £356.79, not including QR code donations.
I’m sure that the Royal British Legion will put it to very good use in helping veterans and their families, as they will continue to do for many years to come.
I am very grateful that most of you were expecting me to call and had cash at the ready. See you again next year.
I’ve now had replies from SSEN. There will be two power outages on : – Thursday 6th November (Ref 244951) – Thursday 13th November (Ref 245388)
The outage on the 06/11 is to install a new connection to the network. The power will be isolated between 09:00-16:00.
The outage on the 13/11 is to replace existing equipment. A generator will be provided for certain NRN numbers for this planned work. Those who will lose power will be off supply between 08:30-16:00.
The SSEN website doesn’t have details of future outages, just those in progress.
On the day of the outage you’ll be able to see progress <here>. Of course you’ll need some sort of battery powered device with mobile internet connectivity.
Share your views on weight loss support and help the NHS improve services
Are you currently trying to lose weight or have you used weight management support in the past? If so, local NHS teams and health service providers across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) want to hear from you.
Whether you’ve accessed support through your GP, hospital programmes, online resources, group sessions, or through weight loss medications like Wegovy or Mounjaro – your feedback matters. We also want to hear from you if you have tried unsuccessfully to access these services or are waiting to do so.
Thank you for helping us improve health and wellbeing across BSW.
Thanks for your help Best regards Dom Dom Hall People and Communities Engagement Specialist NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board

I’ve had two letters recently from SSEN that are letting me know there will be power outages on : – Thursday 6th November – Thursday 13th November
I don’t have details of the timing for the 6th but on the 13th the timing is 08:30 – 16:00.
The SSEN website doesn’t seem to have details of future outages, just those in progress, so I’ve emailed them to check on details. I’ll pass on anything I get.
